If you could talk to someone in person, what would you say about your product? Would they be convinced that your product is "the" product on the market? You need the wow factor... you need the "tell me more" factor... you want the "HOW CAN I GET IN TOUCH WITH YOU FACTOR" and you need it today. Advertising is like talking, only you are actually doing the talking. Know what your customer needs/wants/longs for and "talk to them".
Here are some other quick tips or "guidelines" to follow when working with ad design:
Creative is a two way street. Sending a message has to be received just as your depiction of what is creative for your business has to be heard by the designer. That is where a good coach can make all the difference in whether what is heartfelt by you the business owner or the Director of Marketing, your thoughts need to be addressed and heard. You know the overall mission of the business and the goals.
Ads should answer the question, what would make me pick up the phone, tear it out, refer back to it or cut it out. If it doesn not of that, why put an ad in a print medium?
Making money should not be as painful as spending it. Supporting your overall marketing and branding campaign can be as delightful as you make it. Answer the tough questions with your coach and you'll see results.
Advertising hits all of us all day long. Why do you think you need to advertise? What do people need to know about your product. Why should they spend money on something you feel is the best product. How do you get them to feel it is the best product?
